Torah yads, tradionally made from silver, used over decades have been found to leave marks behind on the Torah's parchment, underlining the lines of text. With the use of wood, not only is this issue addressed, but it returns wood and its beauty to the Torah.... to the Tree of Life.
The word “Yad” literally translates from Hebrew as hand. The tips of Torah yads are traditionally crafted to resemble a hand pointing its index finger asone would do while following along and reading.
